About Main Deck
The Main Deck was established in 1974 fabricating ornamental iron and aluminum railings. In the late 1970's the Main Deck expanded to include a successful deck and porch construction business. At that time it introduced its own line of exterior cedar products which included unique Victorian and Colonial-style balusters, newel posts, rails, lamp posts, columns and gazebos. The introduction and installation of these products in the Philadelphia area continued until 1990. At that time, the popularity of these products triggered inquiries from many lumber yards. In 1991, the Main Deck decided to discontinue deck construction and to begin wholesale distribution.

The Main Deck became a member of The Eastern Building Materials Dealer Association (EBMDA). Marketing was continued through the 1990's.

In early 1998 the Main Deck met with VYCOM (known today as AZEK) a company which manufactures dimensional PVC lumber. VYCOM asked the Main Deck if it was possible to design an architecturally correct railing system that would meet the structural requirements of today's building codes.

By late 1998, the MAIN DECK RAILING SYSTEM (patent pending) made with AZEK was introduced. This product has been widely accepted by architects, builders and homeowners due to its look and feel of real wood and the fact that it can be painted without any further upkeep required.

The Main Deck has worked closely with AZEK ever since and has played a major roll in the development of their Corner Board and Bead Board. Many techniques used in the PVC Trim Board industry were pioneered here at the Main Deck.

Today the Main Deck is proud to offer a Railing System that has the ability to adapt to all applications; is completely customizable by the installer and our experienced staff to help you with the installation. Our custom fabrication shop can supply you with a simple curved railing or that grand staircase.
