Main Deck Railings are made with durable materials that look and feel like wood such as AZEK cellular PVC.  Aluminum is used inside to provide strength and rigidity.

Main Deck Railing Systems have been engineered as a wood substitute with the intention of being painted. However, painting is not required for protection. Main Deck railings will last just as long with out paint but will require more frequent cleaning due to the open surface cells that will collect dirt.

Power washing once a year is recommended. AZEK is more durable than wood and can withstand typical power washing without damage.  Care should be used to prevent damage due to excessive power washing pressures.

Mold and mildew thrives in dirt and moisture more so in northern exposures due to lack of sun. Pollen and dirt act as a food source for mold and mildew.  Mold and mildew will not harm or cause your Main Deck railing to rot.  However, it will detract from the original appearance.  Keeping your railing clean is important and will help maintain that new look!
